How do I qualify for the LINK program?

To qualify for the program, you must have:

  • A 3.0 cumulative grade point average
  • Exhausted all available course offerings in a particular subject area at your high school
  • Outstanding academic performance in the subject area
  • Demonstrated maturity and self sufficiency
  • Successfully completed the application process

First opportunity goes to high school seniors and to students with documented financial need. 

 

Scholarship Contribution

As a LINK student, you receive $200.00 toward your tuition each quarter of the academic year (fall, winter, and spring). This will be applied to your account; you will be billed for the reduced amount. For current costs, please visit Registration & Records Tuition & Fee Guide.

Students in the Portland Public School District may be entitled to an additional 100.00 contribution through their High School Tag Coordinator. Download the request form.

 

What Classes are Offered?

To look at the schedule of classes, please go to http://www.sa.pdx.edu/soc/ Be sure that you are looking at the correct term (for example, fall 2008) Use the drop-down menu to select the courses in a particular area (for example, select Foreign Languages and Literatures to see courses offered in Spanish for fall 2008, and at what times).

 

How Do I Apply?

The LINK program has a limited number of spaces; we encourage you to complete your application as early as possible. 

Annual Application deadline for upcoming academic year is May 31.

If you have missed the deadline and still want to take a course on your own, check out the Quick Entry option. 

An application will not be evaluated until all pertinent information is on file. We will notify you of our decision once we have reviewed your application.
